There’s one trend that’s making a strong run already during this pre-fall season, and it’s full of colors we don’t tend to see past the spring and summer months. Which, in my opinion, makes the trend incredibly refreshing. It’s also surprisingly pulling me towards brighter hues and a rainbow of shades most of us don’t tend to blend. That trend, my friends, is colored stripes, and it’s one I’m fully on board with. It’s a fun play on the classic, French style stripe that I’m forever a fan of, and one simple way to spice up your fall wardrobe.
I will say it’s a trend one must be careful with. Mixing an array of colors can go from chic to tragic (or 1984) quickly, so this trend isn’t about mixing every color under the rainbow and saying ‘fin’. Designers like Alice McCall and Milly are showing us how to pull of the trend in a fresh, beautiful way – and I’m quickly following suit. Even more affordable brands like Lovers & Friends are bringing colored stripes into their inventory in a very welcoming way, so it’s an easy trend to play around with. If you’re not completely sold on it, not to fret – simply go with one of the more budget-friendly options.
Click through the colorful options below to shop the stripes I’m eyeing. Then, when styling the look, pull out colors from the main piece in your accessories like I did with my sandals and bag, for a candy-flavored mix.

Great dress with a very nice retro touch because of orange and pink combined together in the stripes!

Thanks sweets!
What a beautiful dress and really too perfect for Capri! I think these graphic stripes are going to be a major trend this fall and this is one of those trends I’m more than happy to experiment with because it is a twist on the classic trend I already love, the French style pinstripes. The Milly dress from Revolve you linked looks perfect and if styled the right way could work well on everyone. I think when an item has so many colours it’s hard to go wrong, but the dress you’re wearing works so perfectly with your hair colour too. And on a different note, I love how that woman got in one of your photos! Really shows the true Italy hehe.
