I returned from Spring in Paris to a still frigid and wintery New York, so I decided to head back to California to visit with my family, warm my bones but most importantly spend some time with my sister planning her Bridal Shower. From previewing the venue and tasting everything that would be on the menu – to discussing florals and decor – the vision for the shower was finally starting to come to life! I can’t tell you how special it’s been to watch her experience all of these memorable moments leading up to their wedding. Since I was technically the first of my siblings to have a wedding, I am thoroughly enjoying this process as the maid of honor.
The only thing left to do is to figure out what everyone is wearing! Being that we’re going to be at The Beverly Hills Hotel, it’s a definite, ladies who lunch moment – think outdoor patio luncheon, fresh flowers, pops of palms and lots of that California sunshine. The look calls for something sweet and feminine but something that can also transition from the outdoor space to the indoor area where lunch will be served. As you girls know, Nordstrom has long been my destination when it comes to occasion dressing – my trusty shopping companion who will always have something perfect for any event I am attending. Their Nordstrom’s Exclusive Brands selection is especially perfect and is where I found this floral-print charmer, finished with ruffled trim framing the sheer long sleeves. I love how the fitted waist gives way to the subtle high/low skirt hem. And when I shared it in our group chat, the girls went crazy for it – even asking for a few suggestions from me on other looks so that we’re all coordinating for photos.
So back to New York, I went with a laundry list of MOH to-dos in order to get this party going! Invitations have been sent out, the photographer is secured and plane tickets are booked! The countdown has officially begun and the group chat with the bridesmaids has become a constant source of giggles throughout my day.
A few recommendations I had for the girls were this BP. Ruffle Trim Floral Print Midi Dress, this Leith Flutter Sleeve Midi Dress, or this Chelsea28 Lace Ruffle Hem Dress and I absolutely adore this Chelsea28 Mixed Lace Dress.
And let’s be honest, we all appreciate a bridal shower look that is wearable throughout the season so investing in a piece for the shower can also be something that you maybe wear to another summer wedding or even a baptism.
While this dress is going back on the hanger and into the closet until the date of the shower, I had to share in hopes to inspire your upcoming, special occasions.
