The design process with Jennifer started earlier this year after we finally met in person – I’ve been a customer and supporter of her namesake brand for close to a decade now. I shared a bit more on the design process, inspiration behind the collection and our shared love of all things florals and filigree in last week’s blog post in case you missed it. Some great behind the scenes images of our in studio design session as well!
Now that the collection is officially available to shop, I wanted to take this opportunity to speak to each piece individually, to share my personal connection to the inspiration behind the design. Head to my Instagram stories for an unboxing and detail shots of all 8 pieces that have been handmade in New York and are available on JenniferBehr.com. And if you find yourself sharing photos of you wearing anything from the collection, be sure to use the hashtag #TravelWithJBxJC! I’ll be sharing everything!
Probably the most sentimental piece in the collection is the Provence Earring. The golden rosebud design was inspired by a vintage ring passed down to me from my Grandma Judy, she was an artist who loved to paint the flower fields found in the South of France. Delicate and charming, the Provence Earrings can be worn endlessly for any number of occasions, from day-to-day to date night and summer celebrations. I adore the look of a pearl drop earring so to add it to this delicate floral piece was a way to make the piece feel a bit more statement-making.
As the name implies, the Tuileries Headband was inspired by the blooming Parisian gardens in the Spring – one my greatest loves. It’s adorned with the same golden rosebuds from the Provence Earrings and each one is accented with a delicate pearl. The Tuileries Headband is crafted from an ultra-fine headband base that disappears when worn, creating the effect of scattered flowers in your hair. It’s so delicate and sweet.
The Portofino Earring is the piece that first brought Jennifer and I together – it’s my favorite from the collection! Originally inspired by Jennifer’s archive Shanna Earring, the Portofino Earring combines our aesthetics and expertise to create a new piece that features layers of glowing pearls contrasted with rich golden filigree detailing. Most importantly, it’s created to be incredibly lightweight! The Portofino Earrings have the power to transform your look while only taking up a small amount of space in your carry-on. A perfect compliment to any vacation wardrobe – no matter where you’re headed.
The Boboli Barrette carries the floral theme with a trio of golden rosebuds inspired by my Grandmother’s vintage ring, each adorned with a pearl center. Rich gold and bright white pearls come together to bring the perfect amount of elegance to any look. While a lot of barrettes are designed to be worn on the back of the head, this one is the perfect size to styling it on the side of your head above the ear. We wanted to create a piece that can be worn more than one way – the more versatile, the better in my opinion!
The d’Orsay Earrings are an ode to the spectacularly detailed interiors of museums throughout Europe and feature an open frame silhouette adorned with intriguing, three dimensional floral and filigree detailing that are sure to spark a conversation on your next museum hopping adventure. It was designed to remind you of the frames that you find in your favorite museums.
Jennifer and I built this collection on the notion that the right piece of jewelry can completely transform any outfit. In creating the Versailles Barrette, we referenced the most stunning interiors from France to Vienna and Italy, as well as their blooming gardens that greet you. The Versailles Barrette is perfect for a day of museum hopping, allowing you to look polished from behind while you admire all your favorite Baroque Era paintings.
Meant to be paired with or without the Versailles Barrette, the Capri Earrings celebrate the opulence of their namesake island! An intricate frame silhouette adorned with blooming golden florals creates a statement-making length that’s still lightweight enough to wear while shopping along everyones favorite, Via Camerelle.
If there’s one thing Jennifer Behr is known for, it’s her bows! I was so excited to include a bow in the collection! We worked to marry Jennifer thoughtful craftsmanship and ethereal appeal with my effortless elegance and delicate femininity. The Bardot Bow features two layers of light silk organza, adorned with the most beautiful pearl brooch at its center. I will be wearing this piece all summer long!
